Camden County Prosecutor Vincent P. Sarubbi and Camden Police Chief
Robert Allenbach announced that bail was set today at $300,000,
cash or bond, for David L. Moon, M/24, of the first block of Blueberry
Lane in Willingboro. He is charged with Murder in connection with
the shooting death of Corie Carter, M/26, early Sunday, Feb. 23,
2003, in Camden.
The victim, of the Northgate I apartments in Camden, was shot in
the head at approximately 3 a.m. Sunday in the 1100 block of Newton
Avenue in Camden. The defendant was arrested at approximately 6
a.m. while getting into a taxi at the Rand Transportation Center
at Broadway & Mickle Boulevard in Camden.
The investigation indicates the victim and the defendant had an
argument earlier in the night in the area where the shooting later
occurred. The defendant left the area for a short time, then returned
and shot the victim, the investigation indicates.
Moon was lodged in the Camden County Correctional Facility in lieu
of bail, set today by Presiding Criminal Court Judge Linda G. Baxter.
All persons charged with criminal offenses are presumed innocent
unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
