CAMDEN COUNTY PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE
VINCENT P. SARUBBI, CAMDEN COUNTY PROSECUTOR
MEDIA   INFORMATION

January 27, 2003

Camden County Prosecutor Vincent P. Sarubbi and Cherry Hill Police Chief Brian Malloy announced today that five people have been charged with Theft by Deception and Conspiracy to Commit Theft by Deception in connection with an alleged payroll fraud scheme at the Jewish Geriatric Home in Cherry Hill, N.J.

Criminal complaints allege that the home's assistant manager, Raymond Warwick, M/48, of Sir Barton Court in Newark, Del., conspired with four employees to inflate the number of hours the employees worked and thereby receive pay they were not entitled to. In return, the investigation indicates, the employees paid Warwick a portion of the proceeds. The alleged scheme defrauded the Chapel Avenue facility of approximately $26,000.

Warwick and the other employees worked for Aramark, a firm the Jewish Geriatric Home contracted to provide various services. Both Aramark and the home's management assisted and cooperated in the investigation, Sarubbi said.

Warwick was free on $15,000 bail, cash or bond. The other employees were charged on summonses or released on their own recognizance. They are:

  • Mark Richards, M/22, of the 100 block of Blackwood Road, Clementon;
  • LaCass Collins, M/21, of the 900 block of East Clements Bridge Road in Runnemede;
  • Randall Jennings, M/23, of the 100 block of North King Street, Magnolia; and
  • Katina Fraction, F/30, of the first block of West Woodburn Road, Pine Hill.

Each defendant is charged with two 3rd-degree offenses, each carrying a maximum sentence of five years in New Jersey State Prison.

All persons charged with criminal offenses are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
