Camden County Sheriff Michael McLaughlin announced that Gregory Clark,
M/25, was arrested today on a warrant charging him with Murder in
connection with the death on Friday, Jan. 10, 2003, of Rodney Harper,
M/37.
Harper, of the 1400 block of Greenwood Avenue in Camden, was shot
once in the chest at approximately 3:28 a.m. on Jan. 1, 2003. He was
transported to Virtua-West Jersey Hospital in Camden and shortly thereafter
to Cooper Medical Center, also in Camden. He died at Cooper at 2:35
p.m. on Jan. 10, 2003.
Sheriff's officers on surveillance arrested Clark without incident
at approximately 11:15 a.m. today as he exited a residence where he
had been living in the 1400 block of Wildwood Avenue in Camden.
The investigation indicates that Clark shot Harper after an argument
inside the residence of a friend of Harper's in the 1100 block of
Kaighn Avenue in Camden.
An arraignment is expected to be scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday,
Jan. 14.
All persons charged with criminal offenses are presumed innocent unless
and until proven guilty in a court of law.
