CAMDEN COUNTY PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE
VINCENT P. SARUBBI, CAMDEN COUNTY PROSECUTOR
MEDIA INFORMATION
January 13, 2003
Camden County Prosecutor Vincent P. Sarubbi and Waterford Police Chief
John Bekisz reported that a cashier at the Waterford Elementary School
cafeteria was charged today with Theft and Official Misconduct for
allegedly stealing money that should have been deposited in the school
board bank account.
Mary Ann Iuliucci, F/44, of the 200 block of Pump Branch Road in Waterford,
turned herself in today to Waterford Police. A complaint alleges that
Iuliucci pocketed lunch proceeds on several occasions starting in
September 2002 and continuing through early this month. Court papers
indicate that probable cause for the charges includes video surveillance
of the defendant at work.
The charges indicate the amount taken as being in excess of $200,
but the specific amount is still being investigated.
The Theft charge alleges a fourth-degree offense carrying a maximum
term of 18 months in New Jersey State Prison. The Official Misconduct
charge alleges a second-degree offense with a maximum 10-year term.
The defendant was processed today on summonses and released pending
a Central Judicial Processing hearing on Jan. 21, 2003. The Waterford
Township Board of Education has suspended Iuliucci without pay and
with the intent to terminate her employment.
All persons charged with criminal offenses are presumed innocent unless
and until proven guilty in a court of law.
