Adult Protective Services (APS)

  • Safeguards the rights of vulnerable adults (18 years of age and older living in the community) from abuse, neglect and exploitation.
  • Provides or arranges for voluntary or court ordered social, legal, financial, medical or psychiatric services.

  • Investigates all complaints of abuse, neglect or exploitation in board and care residences; findings are shared with licensing agencies.
  • Outreach, information and referral, and case management to arrange for a needed service or to handle a personal or placement issue are provided to residents of licensed rooming houses, boarding homes and residential health care facilities in Camden County.
  • Coordinates and plans the efforts of volunteers who provide recreational services for residents in residential healthcare facilities and the larger boarding homes in Camden County.

  • Discuss personal concerns with a social worker who will assess individuals needs and develop a case plan to address them. Services are arranged for or coordinated with other community agencies.

  • Evaluates the needs of homeless SSI recipients and determines their eligibility for emergency assistance.

  • Provides a small payment to an approved domestic for chore services in a client's home. Household duties are based on a needs assessment. This service allows the elderly and disabled to remain in their own homes. Eligibility for this program is based on Social Service Block Grant (SSBG) income guidelines.
Home Health Services (Purchase of Service) >> Top (phone numbers) <<
  • Since August 1996, clients with the agency's former Home Service program receive in-home services via contract with a community Home Health agency. Provides personal care, light housekeeping and emotional support two to five days per week for two hours each day. Board staff provides case management to clients and over sees billing under contract. The contract also provides in-home services to identified Adult Protective Services clients.
