About the Career Club Blog

The Career Club is a blog geared to jobseekers, career advancers, or anyone with questions and comments in our workforce development community. Launched in November 2010, it was created by the Camden County Board of Freeholders to provide an open line of communication for the many unemployed and underemployed members of the South Jersey area.  What stands us apart is the fact we are one of the first blogs of its kind to be run by government to help you through the some times bureaucratic hardships of the unemployment system.

The Board of Freeholders understand your frustrations during these challenging economic times and wanted to provide you access to a forum where tips are shared and your questions answered as you pursue gainful employment.  We have asked Frank Filipek, Jr., Director of the Resource Center, to be the face and go to guy for all your concerns and inquiries during your job search process.  He will be contributing to a weekly blog filled with straight-talking advice based on real time experience and partnerships.

What’s unique about this blog compared to other career blogs?  We will have the ability to connect you with services and programs that are available to help you along the way as a job seeker in Camden County.  These services may include training, career counseling, childcare, resume writing, work experience and many others at your immediate disposal.

Topics and subject matter will include career planning, social media networking, proper interview attire, the perfect resume and cover letter to just name a few.  If you have something specific you would like covered go to questions or comments and send a message to Frank.  He will get back to you on your question, comment or suggested topic.

Good luck to you during your job search.  Be sure to sign up for updates on our Twitter and Facebook pages.
