Freedom Village will be a 72-unit affordable rental community for persons with disabilities, and non-disabled families in need of housing set on seven acres in Gibbsboro. The project has been awarded $100,000 from the Freeholder Board’s Homeless Trust Fund.

“The community will provide barrier-free housing to allow individuals with disabilities to live independently,” said Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli, Jr. “When completed, it will be conveniently located within walking distance to several businesses and amenities. Support services such as recreation, training and advocacy will be located on-sight,”

Project Freedom, Inc, a non-profit housing developer, will be constructed of four L-shaped three-story buildings containing one, two and three bedroom fully accessible rental units. The project will feature elevators, wider doors and hallways, open floor plans and a community center. Some units will have accessible kitchens and roll-in showers.

The green project will conform to Leed Silver program standards.  It is located near the Gibbsboro Senior Center and circled by the Gibbsboro Greenway, an award-winning network of multi-use trails.
