3nd Annual Camden County S.U.R.E (Students United for Respect & Equity) Summit on Friday, March 22, 2019 from 9:00 AM -1:30 PM at Camden County College, Blackwood campus. The purpose of this event is to bring students from Camden County together from different communities to encourage a dialogue around Positive Youth Development issues that will impact students through their time in High School and give insight on preparing for their next steps.  This is a FREE event, supported by the Camden County Youth Services Commission and multiple community partners. We will provide students with an engaging morning focused on tolerance, diversity, respect and equity. The morning’s agenda, which includes keynote speakers and breakout sessions, will foster conversations focused on the way’s youth can influence and serve as leaders in our community.

Featured Speakers

Wallace Peeples (Wallo267)

With his first criminal conviction at the age of 10, Wallace Peeples was on a path of being a career criminal and inmate. Not too long after, at 17, after doing five years in a juvenile detention center, Peeples was arrested and sentenced to 20 years in prison, following his older brother and step-father, to the same penitentiary. Fast forward to February 2017, after serving his 20-year sentence, Peeples has found a new calling and career, disrupting the status quo as a social media game-changer and charismatic magnet. Wallo has a very far reach, doing speaking engagements at high schools, universities, conferences, non-profits, and corporations. He has done interviews with Shark Tank’s Daymond John, Sway’s Universe, Vibe Magazine, TED Talk, and more. Wallo lives by the motto that belief in yourself and determination to succeed will always outweigh the negativity that life can bring.
