Camden County Cultural & Heritage Commission
The Camden County Cultural & Heritage Commission is an advocate
of access to the arts for all. It offers grants, networking opportunities
and technical assistance workshops for individuals and county cultural
and historical organizations. It participates in the grant programs
of the New Jersey Council on the Arts and the New Jersey Historical
Commission. The commission's Hopkins House Gallery hosts changing
art exhibits in all media. Artwork is purchased from annual juried
art exhibits to become part of the Camden County Art Bank, on display
in public offices throughout the county.
Camden County Historical Society Museum and Pomona Hall
One of the largest museum facilities in South Jerseythe museum
features a variety of displays to properly interpret South Jersey
life in bygone days. Both farming and industry are prominent in
the exhibits, which also feature vignettes of various crafts such
as surveying, blacksmithing, coopering, textile spinning and harnessmaking.
Garden
State Discovery Museum
Recently voted to be one of the top 20 children's museums in the
country, The Garden State Discovery Museum is a hands-on exploration
of fun designed for families with children 10 and under. Special
weekend events highlight musical, multi-cultural, and arts entertainment
for children. With 15 large interactive areas, there's lots of room
for families to spend and adventure-filled day together.
Historical
Society of Haddonfield
The Historical Society of Haddonfield was founded in 1914 by a group
of interested citizens to "study the history of the area, collect
and preserve articles of historic value and to publish historical
information." The Society has met these goals over the years. The
Historical Society of Haddonfield is a non-profit, private organization
which receives no funding from outside sources. Operating expenses
and maintenance of Greenfield Hall and the Mickle House are funded
by membership fees and various fund-raising activities. The Society
welcomes membership not only of local residents but also of anyone
interested in Haddonfield history. For more information, please

Perkins
Center for the Arts
Perkins Center, a non-profit cultural arts center, is dedicated
to excellence in the arts and to providing a wide range of creative
opportunities for people of all ages and of every level of artistic
development. Central to Perkins’ mission is the belief that
artists and the language of the arts are ideal for perceiving and
interpreting the complex modern world in which we live. Perkins
Center is unique in its ability to provide high quality art programs
in a grassroots community setting. Located in Collingswood, Camden
County, as well as in Moorestown, Burlington County, Perkins Center
offers year round arts education, music instruction, exhibitions,
performances and community programs to residents of the region.
Perkins Center Collingswood currently runs programs in visual arts
instruction, exhibitions and community programs.
Rutgers-Camden
Center for the Arts
Rutgers-Camden Center for the Arts (RCCA) serves the regional community
throughout the year with exhibitions, performances, films, events,
and arts education programs that promote a full appreciation and
enjoyment of the arts and an understanding of their connection to
all facets of life.
The
Peter Mott House
The Lawnside Historical Society, Inc. Peter Mott built his house
in 1845. He was a free Black man and an agent of the Underground
Railroad. The house is on the State and National Registers of Historic
Places.
