Emergency Gas Repair in Eastbound Lanes of Route 70 in Cherry Hill

(Lindenwold, NJ) – Freeholder Susan Shin Angulo has been notified by the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) that the right and center lanes of Route 70 eastbound will be closed for emergency repairs in Cherry Hill.

Starting immediately, PSE&G crews will close the right and center lanes on Route 70 eastbound near CR 636/Cuthbert Boulevard to fix a gas leak. The lanes will remain closed until further notice and motorists are advised to expect delays. One lane will remain open.

“This closure will impact the evening commute on Route 70 and area roadways,” said Freeholder Susan Shin Angulo, liaison to the Camden County Department of Public Works. “It is strongly recommended that you avoid this area if possible, and plan another way home if your commute included this section of Route 70 in Cherry Hill.”

Variable message signs are being utilized to provide advance notification to motorists of all traffic pattern changes associated with the emergency repairs.
