Transformation Initiative

Update on Camden County’s Transformation Program Savings

The first-year results of the Camden County Transformation Initiative was presented during a public forum at the Camden County Regional Emergency Training Center, 420 Woodbury-Turnersville Road, Gloucester Township, from 7 to 9 p.m. March 24.  The Transformation Initiative was launched in February 2009 as an effort to lighten the financial burden on taxpayers, spur long-term institutional change and dramatically transform the way Camden County government operates. The project aims to consolidate internal business so that the cost of governing is reduced while the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery is improved.  Research to identify the cost savings and operating efficiencies that can be achieved through restructuring, centralization, shared-services arrangements or any other new configuration of county government services has been carried out by Camden County College’s Center for Civic Leadership and Responsibility.
