Camden County Park Police Apprehend Alleged Counterfeiters
A Camden County Park Police Sergeant noticed a suspicious vehicle occupied by three male subjects in Pyne Poynt Park in Camden at 9:23 AM on Tuesday January 31, 2012. The Sergeant approached the vehicle and noticed that the subject sitting in the back seat had a small paper cutter on his lap, and was cutting out what appeared to be replicated US Currency. Upon questioning the subjects, he noticed a large amount of replicated currency in the form of twenty dollar bills and ten dollar bills.
All three subjects were subsequently arrested and taken into custody. An inventory of the items in their possession revealed thirty-nine replicated twenty dollar bills, fifty-five replicated ten dollar bills, a large amount of trimmings and torn up pieces replicated bills, a paper cutter, and some drug paraphernalia.
“I commend the work of the Camden County Park Police in their handling of this matter,” said Freeholder Rodney Greco, liaison to the Camden County Department of Public Safety. “Their keen instincts and solid judgment resulted in the apprehension of these suspects.”
The Camden County Park Police enlisted the assistance of the Secret Service and Camden County Prosecutors Office. The investigation is ongoing and will be a coordinated effort between all three agencies.
