Each year, numerous bicyclists are killed or injured as a result of bicycle accidents. However, not all serious injuries involve collisions with motor vehicles. Accidents can happen anywhere -- including parks, bike paths and driveways. Head injury is the leading cause of death and serious disability among bicyclists. Bicycle helmets can prevent brain trauma.
