Camden County 4-H Member Captures Top Award at State 4-H Public Speaking Contest

(Cherry Hill, NJ) – Camden County 4-H member Abigail Malitsky of Voorhees was one of seventeen (17) New Jersey 4-H members who received an Outstanding Presentation Award at the New Jersey State 4-H Public Presentations Contest held recently at the Cook/Douglass Campus of Rutgers University in New Brunswick.

Over 125 4-H members from throughout the state took part in this event, which offers qualified 4-H members an advanced Public Speaking experience. To qualify for this State 4-H Event, 4-H members must be in the 8th-13th grade and have received an excellent rating at their County 4-H Public Speaking Contest. Judging is done by educators, 4-H volunteers, faculty and staff.

Camden County 4-H members Sara Weist of Stratford and Savannah Brannan of Clementon also competed at the state event.

“The 4-H program is so important because it gives our young people a critical avenue for developing these and other skills. No matter what you’re going to do in life or in your career, strong public speaking skills can propel you further and further,” said Freeholder Jeffery Nash. “We’re incredibly proud of these young Camden County 4-H members for their drive, passion, and leadership.”
