2017 Women’s Health Conference

 

The Camden County Board of Freeholders is proud to present the 2017 Women’s Health Conference! The Women’s Health Conference will take place on Saturday, April 8th, 2017 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Eastern Regional High School in Voorhees. The conference is FREE to attend and has FREE onsite, licensed childcare available to all attendees.

Experts from around the region will lead 50 interactive workshops about health; nutrition & exercise; family; mind, body & spirit; and professional & financial wellness. The day’s activities will also include a health & wellness exhibitor fair with more than 110 exhibitors,  complimentary continental breakfast and box lunch, tote bag, giveaways, door prizes and more!

 

KEYNOTE SPEAKER

The keynote speaker will be Dr. Generosa Grana, Director of MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper University Health Care. 

Dr. Grana, who is an award-winning cancer expert and researcher, will update the audience on where we are in the battle against cancer. She is Professor of Medicine at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University and serves as an Adjunct Professor of Cancer Medicine at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.

Born in Galicia, Spain, she moved to the United States with her parents when she was 10.  After receiving a Bachelor of Science degree from Notre Dame, Dr. Grana attended medical school at the Northwestern University School of Medicine in Chicago and did her residency in internal medicine at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia.

Her clinical work and research has focused on breast cancer and cancer genetics and community outreach interventions aimed at underserved populations. She has been active in clinical trials for breast cancer as well as in researching the hereditary aspects of breast, ovary, and colorectal cancer.

Dr. Grana has received many honors, including the American Cancer Society Silver Chalice Award, and the Susan G. Komen Award. She has been a “Top Doc” with Philadelphia Magazine since 2000 and with South Jersey Magazine since 2003.

 

HOW TO REGISTER

Online Registration is Closed.  While pre-registration is now closed for this event, Camden County residents are still encouraged to come the day of the Conference, but some of your workshop choices may be full.

There are more than 110 exhibitors at Camden County’s Women’s Health Conference. Check out the main hallways and the gym to discover the wide variety of vendors.

You can visit them before the keynote speech at 9 am, before workshops start at 10:30 am and then throughout the day whenever you’re not in a workshop or eating lunch.
