Description:
This site, which is adjacent to the Downtown and University districts of
Camden City, is the region's waterfront entertainment destination. Formerly
a railroad terminal and collection of brownfields, Camden's Downtown Waterfront
now hosts: Campbells Field baseball park, home of the Riversharks; Adventure
Aquarium; the Camden Children's Garden; the Tweeter Center concert venue;
Wiggins Park; and the Battleship New Jersey museum. On a short ferry trip
across the river to Penns Landing in Philadelphia, visitors can walk to
nearby Society Hill and Independence National Historic Park. Camden's Downtown
Waterfront has great views of the Philadelphia skyline. A waterfront promenade
offers leisurely walking along the river. NJ Transit's River Line and PATCO
are both in walking distance. NJ Transit bus lines also service the waterfront.
