Description:
Adjacent to the Crammer Hill redevelopment area in Camden City, Pennsauken's
collection of prime riverfront sites shows great opportunity for redevelopment.
The Township has designated Cherokee Investment Partners as the master developer
and approved a master plan for mixed-use development with commercial and
public uses around the NJ Transit River Line's 36th Street Station. The
Pettys Island component includes a golf course, hotels and residential communities.
Provisions have been made to protect natural habitats and wildlife including
nesting bald eagles. Cherokee Investment Partners, a national expert in
brownfields reclamation, will be capping the site and installing the infrastructure
required for "vertical development." It will then seek housing and commercial
developers, designers and builders to complete construction of the planned
communities.
