GIS

The use of Geographical Information Systems or GIS has given the Improvement Authority and the BARC the ability to view complex spatial data and make good development and redevelopment choices using Smart Growth principals. With the County having numerous opportunities for new employment, housing, and recreational developments, there is a need to manage all these opportunity zones. GIS is used to manage these unique opportunity zones. By using a vast amount of data, including countywide parcel data, the CCIA has the ability to work with property owners, developers, and municipalities to find sites that best improve the entire County.
