Description:
Two sanitary landfills sit between I-295 and Rt. 42, just off the Creek Road interchange, in Bellmawr Borough's industrial corridor. After completion of a new direct connection between I-295 and Route 42 within the next few years, these landfills and several nearby industrial tracts will be drawn within a unique triangular junction of regional freeways. Adjacent industrial sites in Bellmawr and Deptford point to the site's accessibility to regional markets and local labor. Currently, PATCO is studying whether its Glassboro Line should be extended down Route 42's grass median. Bellmawr is exploring designation of the landfills and the triangle for redevelopment as a transit village. Bellmawr Borough is one of the County's more business-friendly communities.
